Sharlikran wrote:Help wanted with updating Wrye Mash!
It is planed to add Morrowind support to the current version for Skyrim and Oblivion. However because of the differences in file format that is still a long way off. Currently the Oblivion and Skyrim versions of Wrye are undergoing refactoring. Once complete FO3 and FNV can be integrated fairly easily since all 4 games use the same file format. The latest version 304.4 and soon to be 305 uses Python 2.7.8. It isn't possible that I am aware of to have 2.7.3 and 2.7.8 so finding a version of Python that will work with the Morrowind version and won't break the Skyrim or Oblivion versions is going to be dificult.
The Morrowind version may not work at all with the TES4/TES5 version installed. For that reason I'd like to request help upgrading Wrye Mash to work with 2.7.8 of Python. The updates should not introduce new features or functionality. All that the updates should do is fix issues with the Python version when using the same libraries that the TES4/TES5 versions use.
Python 2.7.8
wxPython 2.8.12.1 unicode for Python 2.7
comtypes 0.6.2
PyWin32-218 for Python 2.7
Please test the Python version of Wrye Mash with the libraries listed above and not older versions. If you are just willing to test, remember to backup everything before trying this.
If you are willing to work on the Python coding please fork my GitHub fork of the project. I have limited experience with Python and I will have to rely on your expertise. We can collaborate here and with the TES4/TES5 developers for solutions to the Syntax changes. I can add you to my fork as well. We can always do pull requests to Yacoby's Repo once we have tested the changes.
Thanks

How to get the sources ?
Just unpack 'source.zip' !
How to (re)compile ?
Be sure to have installed all Python dependencies for Wrye Mash on your system.
Be sure to have installed py2exe 0.6.8 on your system.
Open a console, go to the sources folder and run 'setup.py'.
