Thanks Sky move for the buck nix. I knew they were together before Fleetwood mac but I never heard anything by them. I loved the britpop set.

Couple more.

First is a slower song and somewhat depressing. I like it, though:
Rehab - "Red Water"

And to 180, one that's certainly NSFW:
P!nk - "Oh My God"

(so I'm a little behind on posting terrible songs, I know it was a few pages ago, oh well :P)

One of these songs makes me sit with my chin in my hand and stare melancholically into space.  The other makes me dance across my room with my guitar, wishing I knew how to play something more than a few scales.

Just added this to my "To Buy" List. Thanks for posting it.

Heard that damned "woo hoo" song by Blur while I was eating lunch. Had to play this one as soon as I sat down at the computer, to remind me that Blur aren't teh suck. (Vid may be NSFW, depending on the work.)

Not wild about Steely Dan (I never was), but those other three tracks are great, Skydye.

Chameleons

The delectable Francis Reader and the Trashcans

I just saw on the Neil Young listserv that the great Ben Keith passed away. It made me want to listen to this:

Ok, this one is NOT WORK SAFE so I've been told not to You Tube link it.

This is Motley Crue: Motherfucker of the Year. I'm always torn over who should win this distinction: Vince Neil or Tommy Lee. I wouldn't go near either one of them.

Well, here's a nice little blast from the past--it's '70s or *maybe* early '80s...never knew there was a video for it, and never would have guessed this is what the singer looks like LOL. Totally a far cry from the "neoclassical" and darkwave stuff I listen too so much, but I love this song to pieces. This is the kind of stuff I grew up, so in a way I can't help myself

And here is a song I got in my head this morning, for no reason whatsoever

PS I am so thankful for this thread, and for everyone's contributions.

EDIT: I also wanted to let you folks know (if you haven't seen it yet) about this site called 8tracks. You upload music you have purchased, and make playlists of at least 8tracks, to share with others. You can browse around and listen to other people's lists as well. It's free to sign up and start sharing. Here's my first mix. When I was going to grad school in TX, I would drive back to FL a few times a year to visit, and I would usually make one or two new mixes beforehand, for the drive. There were a number of songs that appeared pretty regularly on these mixes: these are a few of them.

I know--I fell in love with that song the first time I heard it waaaaaaaaaay back a couple of decades ago :) And that's how I found Kate Bush, whose voice is so awesome IMO. And I just love a lot of her stuff. Yeah.
