*****************************************************************

     TITLE:   Fliggerty's Almanac
     VERSION: 1.0

     PLUG-IN TYPE: Atmosphere Enhancement

     BY:       Fliggerty
     CONTACT:  http://www.fliggerty.com

The sun has always risen at precisely 6:00 AM, and set at 8:00 PM.  That is so boring!
The time for sunrise and sunset have now been set to follow realistic time patters; effectively
lengthening the days in the summer months and shortening them in the winter.  These times are
based upon those of latitude 40 degrees north in 2009.  The times in Solstheim have been made to
reflect those of Alaska, greatly lengthening the days and nights.

Weather patterns also now change based upon the time of year.  The Bitter Coast has a monsoon
season, The Grazelands has a dry season, there is even a (very) small chance of snow in many areas
in the winter.  I have tried to maintain the environment of each region, while still allowing for
the unpredictability of weather.

And finally, the phases of the moons will affect the ambient light during nighttime.  The fuller
the moons, the brighter it will be outside.  When there is a new moon(s) it will be quite dark indeed.

This mod is dependent upon Morrowind Graphics Extender (MGE) v3.8 revision 107 or later.
Available here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/morrgraphext/files/

*****************************************************************

    2. INSTALLING THE PLUGIN

*****************************************************************

To install the plugin, unzip the files into the Morrowind/Data Files
directory.

REQUIREMENTS: Morrowind, Bloodmoon, Tribunal, MGE (v3.8 revision 107 or later)

*****************************************************************

    3. PLAYING THE PLUGIN

*****************************************************************

From the Morrowind Launcher, select Data Files and check the box
next to the Fliggerty's Almanac.esp file.

All effects of this mod will take place automatically, you don't need to do anything
to start it.

There are some global variables defined each day that you can take advantage of in your
own mods:

Sunrise
Sunset
StartDawn
EndDawn
StartDusk
EndDusk

*****************************************************************

    4. PLUGIN FEATURES

*****************************************************************

-- Sunrise/set times now vary each day based upon the time of year.

-- Solstheim sunrise/set times are based upon those of Alaska to give a "polar" feeling.

-- Weather patterns change slightly based upon the time of year.

-- Ambient moonlight is present based upon the current moon phases.

-- All effects will work on mod added landmasses.

-- Any scripts that depend on dusk/dawn periods have been updated to work with the
"actual" dawn and dusk times (such as The Cavern of the Incarnate and werewolves.)

*****************************************************************

    6. CONFLICTS

*****************************************************************

I have tried to avoid any conflicts with any common mods.  I may have missed something
here or there, if I did please let me know!

I took care the ensure this is compatible with any month-bug fix mod, as well as
the Morrowind Code Patch.  It will work if you don't have any of those, but you will
see a bit a jump in sunrise/set times when you come to the missing month.

This incorporates a tweaked version of Moonlight by Jeoshua.  It is currently in Beta,
but has been so for over 2 1/2 years.  My attempts to contact him have not been successful.

You may still see the sun in the sky during dark hours, or not see it during daytime.
This won't always happen, and it won't affect the ambient light.  If you don't look up,
you won't notice it.

Remember, this an "atmosphere" mod, not a realism mod.  Even though the Sheogorad region
has the same latitude as Solstheim, it doesn't have the same arctic feeling, so I opted
to not have the area use the same sunrise/set times as Solstheim.

Please reports any bugs or problems at http://www.fliggerty.com/

What mod is that?  Are you talking about the ESF thread Seasonal Daylight Variations that's been going on for a while?  If so, this is it. ;)

ahhh ok nvm then flig :P two different titles tend to confuse me. :D on an unrelated note, how hard would it be to IMO finish PS rings of level playing mod in the sense that equipping the ring does all the quests up to that point...like it finishes them and ties off all the loose ends. like playing the  Finished MW ring would kill Dagoth Ur, give you the corpus bonuses, and kill off and complete any quests yyou may of had to do? because it always bugs me when the temple calls me patriarch and yet there is another patriuarch in ym aurters i cant get rid of...plus it still has me doing the pilgramages if i ask the other for duties...

You would have to set an awful lot of journal indexes, as well as disable quite a few NPCs/creatures.  Quite a big project really.

Nice mod. Will use.

Now... How 'bout a world-wide atmospherics mod? With shaders? ;)

This looks great!  I have a question.  Do the moons ever rise during the daytime?  On earth, this phenomena isn't rare, but I've never seen it in Morrowind.  Just curious.

The moons are always there, they're usually just blocked out by the sun I think. I've seen them during the day. The next time I'm wandering around, I'll take a shot.

Yo, I was peering through the scripts for this and noticed that the lookup table for Solstheim is unfinished - all of the sunset times in fl_cc_change_sun_sol for December are listed as "15." , with no decimals.

It's been a while so I don't recall the exact reason, but that was intentional.  IIRC it has to do with the calendar bug.

This is one mod I really feel like trying out. I'll have to remember to try and get an add-on for Iggerty Province.

Having recently re-discovered Morrowind in my archive of games, I picked it back up, sifted through pages, and discovered the amazing Fliggerty. However, I'm having a problem with Almanac - textures with an alpha mask flicker between properly lit and full-bright (Argonian ear-fins, plants, trees and such like). however, when I pause or do anything else that halts the active rendering (console, inventory) or move to an interior cell, everything looks right. My computer is pretty good, and it worked for Almanac for a couple of days before this, I really am not sure what I changed to cause the problem.
(Using MGE 3.8.0)

Check your hands when readied for a spell in first person POV; they'll likely be over-bright too.  I had the same problem, but not from the very beginning.  I had to uncheck it as the effect was so disconcerting to me.  I am also in hopes the problem can be solved.

exactly as you say, Elaura - hands were fullbright as well. Real pity, because I really wanted to see the weather patterns for myself.
