Age of Empires Series

Curious if anyone else here plays any of the Age of Empires. My favourite is Age of Empires 1 for the time period in the Neolithic up to the iron age (which up until now was hardly covered, though people keep throwing in dinosaurs). Sumeria and Macedon forever in that game! Byzantines and Ethiopians in Age of Empires II, and the Ottomans in Age of Empires III were my favourite factions across the games.

I play Age of Empires II the most right now, and am looking to get Definitive Edition when it's more ironed out and the price lowers.

I play it when I get bored with other stuff, just to pass time     I have 1, 2 and 3

1 is still my favorite as well,  I played the others but wasn't that fond of them so I just play the 1st

I rather enjoyed the features in the first two games (I think the first game is undoubtedly the hardest! Much more intensive micro involved) though the third game felt a bit off. I'm guessing it was the extremely different graphical style compared to the first two and the voice acting. Felt a bit more marketed towards the youth in all honesty.

What do you think of Age of Empires: Definitive Edition?

I saw a few trailers,  looks good  might be worth it to try... 4K graphics is a much needed upgrade provided your Card can handle it...  GTX1050 would be my lowest choice
I have a Titan so I am not concerned.  If I decide to get it ...  it won't be for a while   I'm still  trying out my VR set,  I am probably going to get the Skyrim VR and try it
once I get bored with that who knows

I picked up Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition and thus far it's pretty great! Hopefully a workshop for it will be up soon. There's a lot of nice quality of life improvements in it.

On another note, I've noticed that the developers seem to be tactically avoiding anything to do with Age of Empires III haha. There's a new Age of Empires IV trailer and it shows... the middle ages.
