Great House Fliggerty Server Migration

Circumstances have arisen which are making a server migration necessary;  efforts to keep all outages and data loss to an absolute minimum are being made, but unforeseen things may occur.
If you are unable to access any of our sites within the next few days or experience any oddities, please be patient and try again in a few hours.

Thank you for understanding, and being patient with us during this time.

Is there a new page for the Census & Excise Office that is operational to upload character progress or is it still down? :)

You ought to be able to use the C&E as you did before the server migration Morrowind.
There may be more periods of down time yet, but it should not be much longer until Fligg has everything sorted.

EDIT: There will be more down time later in the week so Fliggerty can get every thing finished up once, and for all.
Thank you all for your patience.

We seem to be having some email issues from the server migration. Please be patient with us as we work to get it all sorted out.
Thank you for your patience.

Fort Elder Scrolls is still having email issues - specifically getting account verification emails sent out to new accounts. Or, at least Fort Elder Scrolls used to have email issues. All I get now is a 404 error when trying to access the site, and I hope it's a temporary glitch associated with the server migration. If so, I'd be very appreciative it if someone could fix both the broken URL and look into the email issue. Perhaps the email settings on the configuration aren't set up correctly. On the other hand, if FES has been intentionally closed for some reason...

Thank you for letting us know about the issue Toccatta.
It just so happens that Fliggerty was trying to figure out the issue this afternoon. We're still experiencing it across all the GHF affiliated sites. If you've got a member name maybe Fliggerty can get the account activated for you (if you have not been able to do so yourself).
Fliggerty also told me that there might be some issues with the sites while he is trying to figure out the bugs.
We're very sorry for any inconveniences this is causing you, and we beg your patience with us.
Again thenk you for telling us what's happening with the site. If we don't know about it then we don't know it needs fixing.

It appears that the DNS entry for the site was changed and it hasn't trickled down to my DNS server. Since Drac has manually changed his DNS settings to the Google public DNS server, he has the updated info already. My problems will probably go away in a day or two.

So... There isn't a problem with FES, there's only a problem with ME being able to access it. Also, I've been manually activating new accounts myself already. Thanks for looking into the problem. I was afraid that maybe I didn't have the email daemon settings configured correctly in the admin console, or that they may have changed as a result of the server migration and need to be updated.

So that's the reason why I don't get e-mail notifications from GHF.  I've always get e-mail notifications when I got a new PM or a response of an active PM conversion.

Yeah Fliggerty has been working on it when he can. He spent quite a bit of time working on it today.and plans on working on it more tomorrow. In the mean time every one is welcome to post any legitimate glitches that have sprung up since around Feb 8th or so, that you've noticed on GHF, and all of her sister sites, or Affiliated sites like FES, or Wolflore.

Thanks for keeping us informed.

Since you mention glitches, do you know why this thread is shown on the main forum page and not this thread despite for having the most recent post?

As far as I know Leo , it is because the first post of the thread is newer int he one you linked, then the first post in this thread. The announcements don't seem to cycle with new posts made to the threads. I'm not certain if that's a glitch, or not. as I have not noticed them cycle with new replies added to them since I've been a member these 5 years.

I wouldn't mention that if were no glitch, but I am certain there is a glitch.  As for seeing the posted announcements to cycle due to the last post is something that has always worked regardless what timestamp a thread have.

EDIT:  Something is definitely wrong, because the thread I linked to in my post are still there on the main forum page.  I think it's time to clear the cache in ACP.  Clear the cookies in Firefox doesn't help.

Toccatta, it looks like Fort Elder scrolls is back up.

Sorry Toccatta it seems to be down again. Fliggerty was working on it this afternoon, and will back at it tomorrow.

I don't know exactly how welcome it will be... but I've encountered another glitch at Fort Elder Scrolls that I think Fliggerty may need to look into. Two of my attachments suddenly registered as unavailable even though the ACP attachment size was appropriate for all three. I deleted one and re-synched the ACP file info and the total attachment size decreased accordingly. But now that the "unavailable" attachment is no longer taking up attachment space, I don't seem able to upload a replacement.

I still have one "unavailable" attachment, which I left in case it helps troubleshoot what is causing them to be shown as unavailable. The URL is:

http://denina.fliggerty.com/forum/download/file.php?id=92

Clicking on the link responds with "The selected attachment does not exist anymore." although it's still taking up space in the attachment folder according to ACP. Oddly enough, other attachments don't have the same problem, so it doesn't appear to be incorrect attachment settings, or else NONE of the attachments would work correctly. Unfortunately, one of the ones that doesn't work is the most recent Morrowind Crafting alpha release, and not only is it not available for download, but attempts to re-upload it have all failed.

It's been three weeks now. Any updates on what is causing the problem or what needs to be done to correct it? I am more than willing to wait patiently, particularly as FES is hosted by Fliggerty's generosity, but I don't want the issue to be forgotten or to be presumed to have cleared up on its own. It hasn't.

I have not heard anything from Fliggerty, but I can ask him about it. I know he's received the message, and read it. I do not know however if, with his current RL situation, he has had the chance to do anything about it.

Sorry about this Toccatta, I myself can only keep mentioning this to Fliggerty, as I do not even have permissions to access those features.
I'll keep mentioning it to him, as long as it takes to get this straightened out.
Could you please link the thread that the attachments are posted in, this may help , but I'm not certain about it.
At any rate I'll keep mentioning it to Fliggerty.

Here's a link.

http://denina.fliggerty.com/forum/viewt ... f=33&t=163

The first post has attachments that still work. The last (and second to last) are where the attachments do not, and in any case, I can no longer attach any files.

Can you attach files to different threads, or is the issue with not being able to attach files across the entire forum?

Re: Great House Fliggerty Server Migration

Oddly enough, it appears as though I can attach some files, but not others. I can attach the .esp file by itself (7.13MB) but cannot attach the zip file containing the icons, meshes, and textures as well (25.5MB) despite the fact that the limit is set at 150 MB total for all attachments and 30 MB for any individual file (and both .esp and .zip file extensions are authorized for that board).

If I try to attach the zip file, the file appears to be uploaded, then the post goes blank (or reverts to its original text, if it's an edit) and the attached file isn't visible, nor does it appear under the attachment editor in the admin section.

Okay Fliggerty found an issue with permissions,a nd straightened that out. He hopes that was the problem causing the issues, and asks that you give it a shot.
