I guess I should have been clearer. I know how it's done, but this above is why I haven't bothered with it yet. Jasmine uses a global variable to "tell" other NPCs if she's in follow mode or not - one way I use it is for when you meet Casius: if Jasmine is following, he'll tell you that she has to wait outside before he'll talk to you. The other reason I haven't added dialog concerning other companions is because I haven't spent much time with any of them outside of Laura Craft, so I don't feel comfortable having Jasmine comment on them. I did add the global for Julan because I was going to add comments concerning him at one time. I may still do that in the future, especially if somebody can give me some examples to use. (hint. hint. )

@Arkitekt: Let me get the latest version prepped and I'll pm you a download link of the one I'm currently using. The quest in question won't appear until you've done a few others, so I'll probably test it out myself. I'd still like the update tested on another computer to ensure that it works properly and that I didn't miss any files like I have in the past. Provided it does and the new quest works, 2.1 will be released shortly.

If that blade is too bright on the reflections, I could update it with a better texture job, Jac.

To be honest, I haven't really looked at it in-game, DL. I'll take a look at it later, though.

Okay, here's the updated version for those that want to try it out. Note that this is the full version - it "should" include everything needed to run the mod. If you use this, let me know if you run into any missing mesh/texture errors, scripting errors, mispelled dialog, broken quests, etc. Someone who has the mod has already volunteered to test it, so provided he doesn't find anything wrong with the new quest, I'll be uplaoding this version here and to PES & ElricM. Thanks.

I forgot to add a few things to that version, but they're nothing that will break the mod by not being there. If you use that version, let me know and also, let me know if you run into any issues.

Release of the mod has been pushed back due to a number of issues I've found. They're nothing major, but it will take me a bit to comb through everything and fix it. Anyway, here are two shots I took while testing. The first is Jasmine wearing a new robe I added for another NPC and the second is Deandre wearing DL's scimitar:

I've taken down the mod off of 4shared since it's not working currently working properly.

Version 2.1 uploaded to PES. For some reason, it won't upload here.  :comptoss:

Is that character a halfling? It looks so small, if you compare it with the house and the door or is it my eyes that play me a trick?! :chinscratch:

The Dunmer? No, she's regular sized. It's a trick of the camera angle that makes her appear smaller. BTW, she's not in the mod; she's my test character.

Hmm, is there any console command to make the camera get loose from the player, in order to make more advanced screenshots? :chinscratch:

The <tab> key. Press and hold it down to swing the camera around your character with the mouse. You can't detach the camera, this the closest you can come.

2.2 released:

Fixed numerous spelling and grammar issues.
Added an option to send Jasmine home via her "change what you're doing" dialog.
Added some compatibility features for a forth coming companion.

I've uploaded the first page with the esp only update; you'll need to get the full version at PES until Fligg can copy it over here.

I recently received a rather nice review from Drake Elvin on PES that I wanted to share:

Jasmine - A Morrowind Companion
Interim Review by Drake Elvin

I have been playing this mod for awhile now and even though I am not finished I wanted to write an interim review because this is one of my two favorite companion mods to date. I will not rate the mod yet because I’m not finished, and I will not give away any spoilers.
First of all, there are a lot of great companion mods out there for Morrowind. It makes sense because everyone has different tastes. In broad terms, I can distinguish two general categories of companions: helpers and story tellers – but they are not mutually exlusive.
Every companion is, to some degree or other, a helper – a guardian or pack bearer or both. Some also offer skills or knowledge such as spellcasting (e.g. heal, cure, light, etc.), shop services, or just giving information about certain places or events. Helpers ease certain logistical elements of gameplay.
Every companion is a helper but some are also story tellers. This can be a bit of a grey area because some companions have only simple quests and some back story associated with them while others have a much more elaborate story with interconnected quests.

Jasmine is definitely a story teller companion.

Without giving away any spoilers, my favorite thing about this mod is how the author has seamlessly integrated Jasmine’s interesting backstory with a series of quests that are interwoven with existing Morrowind quests and NPC’s. On more than one occasion I recognized that Jasmine’s story was progressing as I was taking part in existing Morrowind quests that I had played before on different character’s, without Jasmine, but which now included her story.
I have no idea really how far I am through Jasmine’s story apart from saying that I am in the Azura Coast region and I am guessing that I’m maybe one third to one half way through, but I am at a place where I want to keep playing to find out how her story will unfold. That’s great story telling!!!

On the technical side, having integrated the quests and dialogs with the existing Morrowind questlines and NPC’s is in my opinion brilliant and probably was very hard.

Other obvious things I really like about this mod are as follows:
- Despite the complexity of the story this is an easy mod to get up and running with Jasmine as your companion in a very short time, without sacrificing story.
- This is a good mod even if you do not follow the story and only use Jasmine as a helper because the mod uses a solid foundation of a companion who is a strong guardian and pack bearer with a customizable leveling system. And if you follow the story you will see this fits her background.
- Jasmine is gorgeous, fantastic job by the one who did her face. Her house likewise is very nice, with alot of attention to details that truly captures the atmosphere of her story.

A final random collection of notes/feedback:
- I am heavily biased in favour of relatively simple helper companions. The previous two companions I used exclusively were both by Baratheon79: Mage Companion Kendra who is a healer, spellcaster, and ultimately a war goddess; and the Ranger(ish) Woodelf Arya, an awesome guardian with bows and spears. I have always tended to build tanks with heavy armor and swords and fight the main enemies and let the companions mop up all the pests so I like the mage and archer backups. Because Jasmine is such a good archer and melee fighter I recently retired Arya and now run with Kendra and Jasmine. I was using Kendra and Laura Craft at one time but Arya was a lot simpler for me as a guardian – though one day I’m gonna actually start and finish a whole game with Laura ‘cause she rocks.
- When I first ran this mod, my instinct was to go investigate Jasmine’s house for clues and I got inside pretty easy before finding her – RPG’ers instincts I guess, the secret door to the temple cellar is always behind the altar, right? Anyhow, I managed to trigger some early quest events by accident before meeting Jasmine but no long term problems with the mod resulted its been fine ever since.
- Some people mentioned about Mournhold. I had problems with different companions in the past, getting in and out of Mournhold I would sometimes get stuck and have to reload games to get unstuck. Nowadays I use Baratheon79’s Mournhold Teleportation Travel mod exclusively, and it works fine with Jasmine.
- Having read some discussions in the past about mods in and around Seyda Neen, Jasmine’s house initially felt a bit too close to town for comfort; however, I had no problems whatsoever with any of my existing mods. The location is good both for the story and because it is outside Seyda Neen proper; and it’s been working fine for a long time now so I’m over my discomfort with the proximity to town.

And so, in closing, I LOVE this mod -- I can’t wait to find out what happens!

i'm not much of a writer, but he did put it well i have been running Jasmine in my current game and it's a companion that helps tie up some of the minor quests and has a few of her own. I am running her in a large mod list and haven't run in to any conflicts on her part it's and A+ companion mod!

Apologies if this is the wrong place to post this.

Fantastic mod so far, however, after I escort Jasmine back to her house and I loot the key from the pot, when I attempt to open her house door I get a CTD every time.

Any idea what my error could be related to?

I'm not running any of the mods that are listed under "Known Issues" in the readme either. No modifications to Seyda Need either.

Thanks in advance.

This is the first I've heard about this issue. What version are you running?

[edit]: One thing that may or may not work is to reinstall the mod and make sure that all of the meshes and textures are put into their respective places. I have two versions here: an upgrade and a full version. The upgrade only has the esp file while the full version has everything needed to play the mod if installing from scratch. I don't know if that will help, but it's possible that something wasn't put in that the game is expecting, so it crashes. Also, is there anything in your warnings.txt file after you crash?

Well it turns out the problem was indirectly related to this mod.

Checking the warnings.txt as you suggested revealed the entry: "Model Load Error: cannot find create function NiBone in Meshes\i\In_C_plain_r_cwin_rec_02.NIF.
Will use the default object Marker_Error.NIF."

I tracked down that file and turns out it's a room corner mesh involving a window.

The only mod I could think of that altered room/window meshes was Secret Window, Secret Garden by Chaka ZG which "Replaces Common Diamond windows with bump mapped ones."

The mod provides a version 2 'bump mapped' set of files and a version 1 set without bump mapping. I replaced the mesh file in question with the version 1 file and Jasmine's house loaded finally.

Not sure if there's a conflict there or simply that that file got corrupted somehow. I should reload the bump mapped version to test it out but I"m too lazy right now.

Anyhow thanks for the tip--I wasn't sure where to look for debug info for the game. Now I can enjoy Jasmine's company.
