This mod adds a snow bear cub to Socucius Ergalla of the C&E office in Seyda Neen that's for sale. The cub will follow and fight for you if you purchase its freedom. Note that the cub will not carry any of your crap - the only place it can hold things is its stomach and that's not very big.

The cub:

Levels with you when you sleep and grows accordingly.
Levitates and water walks when you do.
Features an improved companion script by Melian and will move aside when you walk through doors.
Can be given healing potions when it's hurt.
Will take your place if you ask it to.
Has a recall ring if it gets lost.

Bloodmoon only.

Copy the files in the Data Files folder into their respective folders:
Clean jac_bearcub.esp goes into the main Data Files folder (\Data Files\).
The sub-folder in the meshes folder go into the Data Files\meshes sub-folder.
The sub-folder in the texture sub-folder go into the Data Files\Textures sub-folder.
Select the Clean jac_bearcub.esp file in the Morrowind launcher to play.

You can read more information on how to install mods here: ... &p=1772866

5. Using the mod
To purchase the cub, talk to the residents of Seyda Neen about the latest rumors, then talk to Socucius about purchasing it. Note that the cub costs 25 gold to purchase.

When the cub grows over 1.0 in scale (after you've reached level 35), some of the animations may look strange. This is an engine issue and nothing I can change.

Feel free to use this in other mods, all I ask is that proper credit is given.

To properly uninstall this mod requires either using Wrye Mash's repair all function or the Morrowind Code Patch's saved game cleaner. This mod will likely invalidated your saved games unless you clean your save.

To uninstall:

1. Save the game and exit completely.
2. Load Wrye Mash and uncheck the mod.
3. Use the Repair All function to remove all traces of the mod.
4. Load your save and click past any errors, they won't show again.

If you are using the MCP, only follow step 1, but use the launcher or Wrye Mash to uncheck the mod. Load as normal and click past any errors.

Elaura for beta testing and for all of her support and suggestions.
Wollibeebee and Kiteflyer67 for initial alpha testing.
Bethesda for making the game and for the snow bear model and sound set used.
Baratheon79 for the inspiration and the original snow bear cub companion mod, as well as the growth scripting.
Melian for the cage resource and for the scripts this mod used.
Adul for the take my place script.

This actually sounds really cool jac, especially how the cub will grow, nice feature. I remember you mentioning a while back that you were working on this.

I've never tried scaling a bear over 1.0 before but I know with other creatures it's okay as long as it isn't outrageously large. Does the bear get too big to fit through doorways? Though I guess it would make sense that most people would appreciate me leaving my voracious bear outside. What about dungeons?

If you get too far away, it'll warp to you, so doorways shouldn't be an issue. You'll have to ask Elaura about that, though, because she's my main beta tester. She hasn't said anything about it, so I'm guessing it won't have any issues. Also, I think it stops growing at 1.20 scale, but I'm not sure.

Thanks for the release Jac. :)

Sorry I didn't provide more feedback. I haven't been able to play in weeks, but I did use the cub for a short session when you first sent it to me and had no problems at all.

And thanks for the mention in the readme. I didn't do much to earn it though.

My Ayelied character will love you for her whole career!  :twothumbs:
