Just a note for the future.

Some times Windows will allow something to run until the exe is changed, and then treat it as a threat.
Also check your Anti Virus program, and see if it didn't do something against the altered exe.
If steam will not allow to install Morrowind to a different location uninstall steam, and install it to C:\steam\ (or some such similar location).
I realize this may cause you to have to reinstall every single game you have and start all your games over, but it might help.

About 2 years ago Valve changed their policy on Steam regarding game installation in the default folder e.g <HDD>\Steam\steamapps\common\<game title>\ usually it would be in C:\Program Files(x86) in both Vista and Windows7.

Yes.  You can install a game anywhere on Steam unless the game itself aren't controlled by DRM by the company behind the game, so if a company have decided that a game must be installed in the Steam folder then it must be I think.

I think you need to allow both Steam and the actual game in an AV.

I would advice people to install Steam outside of the C:\Program Files(x86) folder and install any game where you want them to be installed.  I've since I started to use Steam (when I bought Empire TW) always install Steam outside of the Program Files system protected folder(s) and I haven't got any issue so far.

Not too long back I finally broke down and upgraded to windows 7 (not due to the end in support on Microsoft's side, but due to my new GPU not being supported by XP 64). When I was installing all of my games I HAD to install every single game I have through steam to my Steam\... folder. It wouldn not let me install the games any where else on my Hard drive. See I was going to try to install all of my Bethsoft games to c:\Bethsoft folder, EA games to an c:|EA folder etc... but it would not let me. It kept saying that there was already a steam folder on the drive, and that I had to choose another location. Even Fallout 3, and Fallout New Vegas had to be installed to Steam\..., and the Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic games too. So no you can not install steam games to any folder you want. It even made me install old games like Deus Ex, and System Shock 2 to the Steam... folder, and I KNOW those two games are old enough to be past DRM control.
My suggestion was that if at all possible Darkenlore ought to try installing Morrowind in a different folder then the default folder (I suspected that it might not prove possible, but I suggested it any way) notice my suggestion that he try c:\Morrowind... and if he couldn't then reinstalling Steam to a directory such as c:\steam... rather then in the default location. At any rate the point is moot the OP has had his issue fixed, and All is well in Gameland. A happy time is had by all, and the blod of many an evil creature will flow freely as a result.

I assume you didn't notice the HDD letter option you'll see during the installation in Steam Client and changing that allows you to install a game where you wanted to and not as a subfolder to the Steam folder?

So yes you can install a game anywhere, because right now I've Skyrim in same partition there both Morrowind and Oblivion are installed at the same time Steam is installed in a different partition.

Have you checked the Steam Library settings?

If not then click on the Steam menu then click on download and there you'll be able to either add or remove a Steam Library meaning you add an installation path for Skyrim if you want to install it outside of the Steam folder.

- 4GB patch.
- Arrow de-nocker.
- Better recharging.
- Multiple scripting stability fixes.

All changes are highlighted in the first post.

There is a new patch program with a nicer UI, and the Python version has moved to Python 3.4.

MCP 2.4 released!

Although this was released to fix a little problem with the new patching program, there are also some nice gameplay options:

- Followers defend immediately. Followers and summons will now attack an enemy as soon as combat has begun, instead of waiting for the enemy to land a hit.
- Ownership tooltip. Tooltip now shows an object is "Permitted" when rented or granted access instead of showing "Owned".

This sounds really great actually.  Never really thought about it, but this should make followers so much more usable.

Both *fixes* are logical and Bethesda should have done that 15 years ago at least after the latest game patch.

Thanks for your hard work Hrnchamd.  :sheo:
