Here are a couple tips for when you upload a mod to GHFDL.
1. Create a release thread right here in this forum. If you happen to forget which forum to post in since we have two release forums, a fool-proof way is to go to edit mode for your mod on GHFDL and click the Post [Rel] Thread button which brings you right back here as if you had already clicked the post new topic button. You can follow the suggested template, or just do the post the way you wish.
2. While in edit mode for your mod on GHFDL, grab the text in the Download Button BBCode: box and paste it into your release post to get your Download button in your post.
3. Once you have posted your release thread, grab the URL to it and paste that into the Forum Thread box to get your Forum Thread button on the GHFDL mod page.
4. If you have a mod on another site, and wish that to be known on your GHFDL download page, paste the URL to your mod on that other site into the Mirror: box while in edit mode for your mod on GHFDL, and you will get a mirror button on the mod download page.
5. While you are in edit mode on your GHFDL mod page, NEVER EVER DO THE FOLLOWING THINGS: Close your browser, hit the back button on your browser, refresh the page. If you do any of those things you will lock your mod and be unable to edit it further until one of two things happens: 1. An hour passes and the auto unlock script unlocks it, 2. You get one of the staff to unlock the mod page for you. Jumping into GHF online chat will get you the fastest response for number 2. The only correct way to exit edit mode is to either hit the Submit or Cancel buttons at the bottom of the page.
6. If you later make an update for your mod, you can replace the main download for the mod by using the update button at the bottom of the page while in edit mode on GHFDL.
7. If you think your mod did not upload properly, please open a new tab/window and check this page first. If your mod did happen to upload...it will be at the very top of the list.
