Mikey, this is a great link! I hope you don't mind that I shared it over at my homesite of TESFU. I gave you full credit for finding and posting it here of course.

Interesting that didn't they say that Arena began being worked on in 1992? I know it came out in 1994. But it was the whole Tamrielic continent minus The Summerset Isles. That was really fast to come up with such a great game that was first in TES series. I did know that it was originally intended to be fighting arenas around the various cities in the different provinces that the PC could fight in. They expanded on that concept into the whole world of Nirn but retained the name Arena.

What is everyone's favorite TES game? Is that appropriate to ask here, Mike? And has anyone here played any of the cellphone games? Battlespire and all those other games for other platforms? My favorite TES game is Morrowind and then Arena. I have never even seen the cellphone games except for their graphics in the ads.

Oh ok? Why are you distressed? We've certainly breezed right through Oblivion. Or those who remain modding and playing Morowind have I should say.

Hm...
Can we turn this into a "TES V suggestions and discussion" thread?
Even though we have no developers over here...

For a while I kinda wanted them to remake Morrowind with better graphics n' stuff. I doubt that's going to happen.
Now I kinda want it to be in Akavir.
And have a wad o' lore in it

Does anyone know why everyone back at the OFs think that it's going to take place in Skyrim? Many polls have shown this.

If they make it in to another action RPG I'm going to be one very pissed off consumer. I want Morrowind-ish stuff mixed with Oblivion-ish stuff. If they half-ass things again I'm going to be upset. ;_;

My favorite is Morrowind. I didn't get very far into Arena or Daggerfall and I've never played Oblivion, so I'm a bit biased.

@Peachy: Bethesda has no reason to visit old games, so it's always been up to the community to improve on the game after they released their last patch.

As a note, TES: V will probably take place in Skyrim, in case anybody didn't know. They copyrighted the title a long time ago, along with a lot of paraphernalia. From what I've seen of Fallot 3 I'm not to worried about Bethesda "continuing down along the Oblivion path." As for the Morrowind modding community, even if the game is great it won't beat Morrowind. In my opinion the TES games aren't intended to overshadow each other. Instead, each new instalment contributes to the experience. You're not getting rid of me that easily.

Edit: to continue with the second, off topic ( :violent:) discussion, I'd have to say Morrowind. After that probably Redguard and Battlespire; both have aspects to them that I like).

I would like to think Bethesda learned their lesson with Oblivion, and showed that with FO3, but I'm not positive. It could have been a mistake. But Fallout 3 was a good game, and an RPG, much more than Deblivions, so they could be returning to the True Path.

I have hope, I will always have hope.  They have proven that they can make good games.  OB proved that they could make a pretty but superfluous game.  F3 proved that they can make a game in any environment imagined, even if it wasn't their original idea.  But we'll see.

I hope for Summerset Isle, they also trademarked that a few years back.  In fact, I recall everyone was pretty sure that TES IV would be in Summerset Isle...just as sure as they all are about Skyrim being the next one now.   :chinscratch:

BTW: I'm moving this to the TES board.

I have very high hopes for this game, but I want something totally different from morrowind or oblivion. No recycling. New lore, (well, much more in-depth old lore, and new lore) gameplay, and most importantly... VARIETY. That's my main complaint about Oblivion and FO3. It gets boring when there are 3 types of enemies to kill.

To the isles!

I really hope that the next one takes place in summerset isles, so that i can return from morrowind back to the land where i was born. Also i want beat some Pyiics silly until they tell me how to achieve chim.

If you want a huge world, they made Daggerfall. Or Arena...

Aww c'mon, 2010? That's way too early, I'd say 2012, and Bethesda never even finished Rouge Warrior, they rush things too much.

I have high hopes for this game, and I hope it takes place on the Summerset Isles, I don't want it on Skyrim because Vality is already working on that.

I doubt Bethesda really cares what's already being done by us lowly modders. I'd place my money on it taking place in Skyrim.

I never heard of the Summerset Isles trademark. :chinscratch: Sounds like something to read up on.
