If that's true, then what are they making now? Oh god, it's happening. An MMO! (Or at least something nobody wants to hear about at the moment, like Fallout 4)

Lemme rephrase that. Todd already let on that they have been working on something for 2 years, and that it is almost complete, or at least has a lot done. I want to know what they are developing if it is not TES V.

If you ask me, they're just about to miss the MMO gravy train.  It's about time for the NBT (next big thing) to come along.

Oh, that... :) A bunch of things, none too interesting, but all money-makers - just look on their website or wiki for that... TES V will likely start soon, hopefully this Fall, if they find enough resources. I will get back with the "real good news" as soon as they'll be available... ;)

EDIT: Right, I've got news: Skyrim is already in production, will be probably shown next year at E3. It is NOT an MMO. But please keep it quiet, you are not supposed to know this! ;)

Sure is sad that I posted twice in a row. One would think more would have been debated

Phoenix, I just don't think there's a whole lot to debate yet. I mean, other than who "they" refers to, and whether the player is the Dragon Born, Dovahkiin.

I've heard people saying that "they" means a race from Akavir; either the Tsaesci or the Ka Po' Tun. I wondered initially if it could be the Ayleids, based on the Nu-Mantia Intercept. The reason I doubt it is any of the Akaviri is because of this line "But no one wanted to believe. Believe they even existed." Everybody in Tamriel knows that Akavir exists and that it has inhabitants. For cyrin' out loud, a Tsaesci was the Potentate of the empire and the Snow Demon King of Kamal invaded Morrowind! For me, that rules Akavir out. Besides, Bethesda has said in the past they want Akavir to be one of those secrets of the game, why spoil the mystique, especially if so many people want it?

So what exactly that leaves I've still been speculating, and I highly doubt Bethesda is going to just pull something out of their ass. They have way too much lore to work with. One thing we do know: Dovahkiin = Dragon Born in "their" language... possibly cross referencing styles.

As far as who the Dragon Born is; I have no idea. But it's a vague enough name that it could easily refer to the anonymous Champion. Some people have said that it's a dragon. But uh, Dragon Born has never referred to an actual Dragon in TES lore, AFAIK.

But whatever, we shall see when they show us.

Wait, a possible PC born from a dragon, as if we weren't powerful enough already?
Ack, I can see ythat being, interesting. shouldn't the PC be shunned if dragon born?> an entire gam e played on the outskirts of everything? neat idea...

Well, if it were meant literally that would be interesting in all sorts of ways, but I doubt that that is the case. And I don't think the player would be shunned. Dragons, what with their ties to the Empire, are not really seen as being bad. At least not to the Empire's citizens. (Because of the actions of the Empire, such as in Hammerfell, they probably are seen in a worse light elsewhere). It's the same with the Akaviri. People seem to forgive their past transgressions, however considerable they may have been.

As I said, though, dragon born is almost certainly not meant in the literal sense. If I remember correctly, not only is Tiber Septim called dragon born, but also all other emperors or empresses who followed or, I think, even preceded him, along with the Nerevarine and, I think, all of the big-time heroes who followed or preceded him.

At this point, I'm not quite sure what meaning is behind the title. In the case of the emperors, I believe it refers to the covenant with Akatosh, in which case the title would reflect on the position of emperor, and not the emperor himself. Basically, their title as emperor was "born" as a result of Alessia and Akatosh's literal unity.
