Doctor Who

That's right.  Flig's already created the Marine and the BFG from Doom for Morrowind.

I think it's about time the good old Fourth Doctor from Doctor Who made an appearance.

Now...I've already got the Tardis meshes...interior and exterior!  Someone was nice enough to make those, and...hmm, forgot to leave his name in the archive, actually.  But...it's ready to dump into the game world.....

Now, I just need a shirt that looks somewhat like Tom Baker's old brown coat with a multi-colored scarf.....

There are plenty of pics on Google....

Doctor Who: Tom Baker as the Fourth Doctor (Image Search)

Also, I need someone to do a face for Tom Baker.

Here's a good pic of that.....

Tom Baker's Face

I think I've even got a suitable hat with curly-haired rag to go with the face, unless someone has a better hat-and-hair combo.

Can anyone help me build this colorful NPC to go with my Tardis?  He'll (of course!) use a standard Bretton body...with or without Better Bodies, I should add.

Thanks in advance, everyone.....

Hmmm...  I posted this about 10 days ago, and...nobody?

I hate to do this, but...I guess it's either bump this thread or start a new one, so...  [BUMP!]

Can anyone find or create a face mesh/texture combo that looks like Tom Baker as the Fourth Doctor Who?

Tom Baker as Doctor Who

And...can anyone create a shirt mesh that looks at least somewhat like that brown coat with the scarf?

Thanks in advance....

Heh.  I feel bad not being interested in this idea given what a history Tom Baker as the doctor has.  It's just that I like the newer series a lot more, so I'm never terribly impressed looking at that odd looking old man with silly hair and a long scarf.

Lol!

It's just that silliness that I think would best make him fit in with the Province of Iggerty in Morrowind.  I mean, after all...this -ISN'T- a Science-Fiction sort of game.  If the character(s) were too serious, I think it would break the game's factor of Immersion.

Nobody would believe it, so nobody would download and use it, except for hardcore Dr. Who fans...and I'm targeting hardcore Morrowind fans preferably...along with fans of both Morrowind and Doctor Who, who will probably be the first to grab it.....

Yeah, but it seems to me like it'd be a trivial bit of effort to translate ANY of the Doctors you wanted into Morrowind in the form of an ancient and powerful wizard.  He doesn't need to be Maiq the Liar or Bifpan style to fit in.  He barely needs to change at all really.  Sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic and all that.

All else being equal, I just don't like the way the guy looks.  I like the newer doctors more.

Hmmm...  Ancient and powerful wizard?  I never thought of that.  I was just going to make him activate a script to change the door to point to one of several different exteriors--nothing more powerful than a travel mod, really.

Although I suppose it can evolve into a quest mod, with a random chance the "teleport" malfunctions and sends you to a weird outer realm where you have to fight Dahleks or something to get replacement parts to fix the Tardis....

I still need a Doctor, tho.  And I happen to like Tom Baker's cynical wit.  It reminds me alot of....well, me, for one.

Perhaps I have found a substitute!

Until I find a suitable face....and, that wonderful coat and scarf.....

I'll just make due with a Powerful Wizard!!!!  :sheo:

I've found Gandalf's hair, beard, hat and robe!  :twothumbs:

So...if anyone can find me a face that looks like Tom Baker...and a coat with a scarf--like the one worn by Tom Baker in Doctor Who.....

I still nee 'em!  But I'll make doe until those two items can be made to appear.

Thanks!

I found a good picture to use for a texture and I can try to do it for you, but I haven't done any kind of modding in a while so I'm gonna need you to find the mesh you'd like used. If you'd like me to do it, you can either send me the mesh and it's texture, or a link to the mod I can find it in.

Excellent, thank you, DN....I've got Westley's headpack, so I'll look through and see if I can find a head shaped appropriately for Tom Baker.  Pry can have one picked out by Monday at the latest.

Bit off-topic but this got me to join the forum! Tom Baker is one of my favorite Dr. Who, so this is one I would love to have as well...well as a companion.  Sassman, may i ask where you found that lovely T.A.R.D.I.S. resource?

I think I found one of them here on MMH, and then there is another much larger mod on EricM.com....  Here is the smaller one, tho.  There is no Readme or credits of any kind...just the outer box, outer door, inner door, and control panel.  In fact, I wound up re-texturing the other guy's control room, b/c I wasn't satisfied with his (mostly) hand-drawn details.

It's a .7Z archive, but the latest shareware version of WinZip will open that.

Cheers!

Sorry it took me so long...got caught up in some other things.

The texture is definitely NOT the 4th Doctor, but I think the mesh has the right shapes and position for his eyes, nose, cheeks, etc., so if you can align your image to the mesh I included, he oughtta come out just about right.....

Thanks, DN.

This may take a while now that I have Skyrim, but I'll try to work on it a little whenever I take a break. :VivecSmile:y

No problem, DN.  It's not like I'll need to have the Tardis running as a travel mod for Iggerty Provence any time soon.

Guess I'd better bump this thread a bit....

DarkNerevar, have you had any time lately to work on that Tom Baker/4th Doctor's face for my travel NPC?

Also...does anyone know of a clothing mod (BB or otherwise) that consists of or at least looks like a 3/4 length coat with a long scarf?  I have pants, and I think I have a curly hair and hat combination, but the selection of coats and robes I have now won't work....

Thanks, everyone....

I started it back around my last post, but haven't worked on it since. I'll try to finish it up for you.

NP, DN, take whatever time you need.

RL's been interfering with my modding time, so I guess I'm not in any hurry.

I have the larger mod by David Williss with the TARDIS shell modelled by Michael M. Imrie and the console by Lady Eternity.
I got it either from Elric's or from MMH. If it's not on MMH, I can upload it.  :D

Please do, Bruno!  If we don't have it already, we definitely need it, b/c these mods are getting real hard to come by!
