LF script that controls attribute regen while resting

Hey guys, just trying to make a plugin to Glassboy's "Fair magicka Regen ver. 2.0b" that tweaks the resting magicka regen rates to what they should be given the natural regen Glassboy adds. Problem is I can't find the script (I'm assuming it's a script?) that takes care of regeneration while resting. Anyone know which one that might be?

RE: correct mod author; whoops. I thought I read the name 'glassboy' on the readme, I'll have to be more careful next time. :S

RE: scripts; Yeah, that's the mod for the mana regen while you're up and about, but I'm looking for the script (I'm assuming it's a script and not some baked-in code?) that controls the regen rates while resting/sleeping so I can modify magicka regen rates while resting to be in line with the mod. At present the rate is the default 0.15xInt magicka/hr restored while resting, which is just abyssmal; not that I need to rest much when I use this mod, but it would be nice to have a full magicka pool straight after I wake up (should it be depleted in any way), rather than having to wait normally. #mageproblems

RE: scripts; The way that script is written (mana_regen) I do not think it takes resting into account, I would have to study it more.  From the quick look I took at it, I think you are indeed stuck with the hard coded mana regen while resting. Hence the need for a re-write.  I would suggest looking at other mana regen mods and find one that DO take resting into account, and then pattern your re-write off that.  I think mana_regen needs at least one more variable functioning as a holding variable of the date-time it last ran to compare to the current date-time so that it could correctly do math for ammount of time passed.  While it uses getsecondspassed function....I do not remember how that function works when resting is involved.

Yeah, I had a bit of a dig through the script, the way it uses getsecondspassed as a timer means that it only currently restores magicka while active (i.e. not in menus; there's a menumode check there as well to pause the script while in menus). Might have to have a further look at the function list...

I wonder if you had Talky Morrowind installed, and it set so that the game didn't pause while in Menu mode could you remove the Menu check, and would it still count seconds passed then?

I still think the simplest route would be to add that second variable and do a little math to get time passed between full runs of the script.  That way you could preserve the benefits of the script not running in menu mode, and still get your full mana regen.

So Imust admit i kinda ldt this fall off the bandwagon a bit; ended upuninstalling the original regen mod because it felt unfair to fight monsters when they couldn't also naturally regen. might be possible to do, but seems like such an implementation, particularly with this mod, might start to get prohibitively expensive resource-wise with each loaded NPC.
I seem to remember a mod i used ages ago that did 'natural' mana regen just award a restore magicka ability based on your willpower that would restore while resting (and waiting too), but didn't scale with max magicka like this one does.
Even without the mod you can get by with no natural regen alright anyway (seems like an Atronach-signed character with conjuration as a major skill (or lucky enough to otherwise cast Summon Ancestor Ghost reliably) is enough to get by anyway; and one of the quest rewards for RoHT is a 1 pt restore magicka passive ability anyway; completely sidesteps the stunted magicka ability and then some >:)
But I digress; since i'm not using the regen mod anymore i think this little project of mine is effectively abandoned. It does strike me as odd though that the rest regen calculations can't be modified in the CS; I think if you could, a handy mod would be a change to resting magicka regen from 0.15x INT magicka/hr to 0.15x (max. Magicka value) magicka/hr. That way all character types, regardless of max magicka could get a full night's rest (7 hours min.) and get full magicka back (assuming no passive restore magicka abilities, which I think even 1pt gives 3600 magicka/hr). Which i guess to make goes back to my original question, doesn't it? DX<
