I'm looking for a scripted spell that can create an object when it impacts something. Is this possible with MWSE?

You mean when the spell effect impacts something?  You want the object to be created where the spell effect ended?

Well... I guess you detect damage on the target, you could "placeatPC"? The damage I think is really the only indicator you have that the spell has reached the target, because I know of no function (except the memory map) that can track stuff like spells.

Exactly. More specifically, I want to place a ring where the spell lands. If that's not possible, I guess I can just get the spell effect of an object that's been hit then create the ring there.

Take a look at Yacoby's short range teleport mod.  It's complex, but it usually works.  He essentially places an invisible NPC right in front of the player when the spell is cast.  This NPC is then moved out away from the player; it's position is checked each frame.  If it doesn't move any longer, then it assumes that it hit something with collision and stopped.  That's the place the spell should have "exploded" at.

Alright, I checked out Yacoby's scripts and, well, I think I need new glasses. From what I can tell, the script moves the player to whatever location they're looking at and that's not what I want to do. Fligg, you should know that I'm an amature scripter and I hate looking at MWSE/MGE stuff because I don't have a reference like the MWSFD. So any other ideas? :tongue:

I think I'll wait on this one. If it was a regular MW script I might be able to sort it out, but I'm not touching MWSE/MGE stuff without reference material. :tongue:

theres not alot of refrence material out there for MWSE  :ninja: i feel your pain  :punkrock:

I meant that I would wait until you had it done. :tongue: I haven't bothered with Yacoby's system, so you can grab his and the lightning mod from here.
