Changes comming to the Official Bethesda Forums

In the off chance that it has been missed here I would like to take the opportunity to mention to everybody that the Bethesda Softworks Forums will be going through some changes in the near future. You might want to take a look at this thread if you have an account over there.

Yeah they're still hammering out some bugs in their new forums. It will be announced when you can register your new account. That's why I suggested keeping an eye on the thread I linked.

Seems to be working now, I was just able to log in, and take a look at the topics I've had an interest in.

It's a bit creaky there - I guess they are putting all their effort into setting up the new forums - the good news is GHF is still the same and still here and that's what matters thanks Flig and admin team

Right now, we're launching the private beta forums for Automatron's DLC Beta and also a General Discussion to get feedback on the new forums. It'll take some adjusting and we'll be moving the forums over slowly.

EDIT:  The new forum sucks and I seriously thinking about saying goodbye to BSF by not visiting the new forum at all.  I would even decline an offer from Gstaff to become a moderator on the new forum, should he appoarch me and ask.

They went for a reddit look.  I think the layout is pretty neat (once I get used to it) but I absolutely hate how posts are reorganized when someone replies to them.

For example, if I were to reply to Illuminiel post in tis thread right now, the new officials would reorganize the thread so I appear under Illuminiel's post...that's not going to work...

EDIT:  Actually if you make an account you can change preferences so the forum's view is "Flat" which means the above issue doesn't happen.  Don't know why that's not he default though.  This isn't reddit.  I'm not going to skim through an entire thread everytime I want to see a new post...

Sometime a person gets used to a certain look of things, even with the skin changes over the years when a new Bethsoft game comes out one can still get used to how a forum feels, and they start to like it. Change can sometimes be difficult to cope with. I have just one thing to say about the new Bethsoft forums at this current early stage in access to them, and that is:
AT LEAST IT'S NOT THE IGN FORUMS!!!

The new forum REALLY sucks, if this post are correct about not being able to access your profile when using a mobile.

They may be correct, but that is the reason that they are giving everybody the opportunity to test them out. As stated in the first post in more then a few threads on the new forums it is in beta stage right now, and they will be trying to squash the bugs as they are found and reported. That is why they have treads to report issues found on the new forums. Just expecting them to have all their ducks in a row right out of the gate is like expecting them to make a game with zero issues, and requiring zero patches right out of the box. It's Bethesda, one that has anything to do with them for more then one game has to realize that this is par for the course when it comes to them. Either cut then the slack that they need to get things done, or just stop using their forums. Going to other forums to rant about how much they got wrong right out of the gates isn't going to help them get it fixed any sooner.

I have not been able to log in to there since the week after they opened it for the public.
Well let me clarify that I could log into Bethesda.net all I wanted, but every time I clicked the forums I was logged out, login back in would put me back at the Bethesda.net home page.
Many many people I have talked to have stated that the new Bethesda Forums are broke, and need to be just thrown out. I reserve my opinion on the matter, cause I'm secretive like that.

I can not say for sure, the community is still using the old forums for the time being, I have not logged into the new forums since mid October, so I can not say what is going on there at the current moment in time. I have not even looked at the old forums since late November,and can not tell you really what is happening around there lately either.
I can tell you that in mid October the general consensus of the community members that were using the new Bethesda Softworks Forums, was that it sucked,and not very many people liked it. To be fair though they only had a handful of sub-forums created yet,and had not even began implementing the older Bethsoft game sub-forums. It was extremely buggy, and had many issues to be worked out at that time.

Yes, eventually, they are closing down the old forum and Bethesda will let us know before it happen, which I think is the main reason why the search are still broken and viewing what a content a member have in the profile doesn't work.

We're getting closer on the full move. We were waiting on some toolsets on NodeBB, which we recently received. Fond as I am of these forums, they are likely to be closed out in early April.

Any date between the 7th and the 17th of April, when IPS 3 officially ends, is when Bethesda are closing the old forum for good.

This makes me sad. I have not been to the new Bethesda Forum since Mid November, not because of the bugs they had at the time, but simply because I do not like it.

I haven't even looked at the new forum since its beta.  I remember loving the layout/design but hating the functionality.

EDIT:  Looks like they improved the functionality but destroyed the design...I don't need a silly sidebar to the left of my screen.
