I know there's a mod that allows you to write in your ingame journal, but I can't find it right now.

Edit:  Here it is Journal Enhanced by Aerelorn, but it requires Morrowind Enhanced also by Aerelorn.
"Shine your light on me,
Illuminate my dark places.
Free me of my past
And let my soul fly to yours."

The three golden rules of mods:
1) You want it, you make it.
2) You don't like it, don't play it.
3) If you make it and you like it, don't listen to anyone else.

Congrats on release and thanks.

I was wondering if its possible to upload journals in other formats tha HTM?
I mean a simple notepad with your own writings? or something similiar.

Anyway, im really enjoying myself here and with cne!

No, not at the moment.  I have considered the possibility of allowing you to edit the journal.  However that would get screwed up each time you upload your journal as it would be entirely overwritten.  I have the inklings of an idea on how to resolve such a thing as this, but I'm not sure how it will pan out.

Hmm, actually it would be much easier just to have some kind of journal directly in your character's profile, some kind of blog or something.. well you get it.

First, I must bow down before the greatness of the creators and the awesomeness of the testers and the excellence of all contributors. Hail, and many thanks. The sharing of such a creation is a true blessing.

Second, I have to somehow, after years of not playing Morrowind, set it all up. I remember a number of months back finding a new and very comprehensive guide to setting up Morrowind with mods, and I know I found it through GHF, so I know I can find it again. I will be looking to that, and beginning the long project of setting up, and trying (ha ha ha ha ha ha ha) to come up to speed with what is current with this beloved game. Recently, I have really felt the desire to play it again, so I am supremely fortunate to find the Census and Excise Office mod being released now.

It will probably take me a good two weeks to get everything together. But it will be so worth it, because I will spend so very many hours in this great realm.

Again, many thanks; many congrats; I celebrate your creativity and dedication, your know-how and determination. In short, y'all rawk hard.  :punkrock:

Fliggerty and Corresponding Magistrates, I come before you today with but a request.

I have launched a competition in MW that greatly increases the playing difficulty and allows for a more fulfilling game to be completed.
To help keep this under control so that no one can cheat their way through, i have required them to use your CnE office here to keep track of their characters.
Also i have not promised them a reward for completing the game playing by these rules, but i have come to ask for your help. In order for people to have a better possibility of playing this competiton, would it be possible for someone to create a unique badge for the winner of this, Iron Man competition? I'm not sure if you are able to award this to just one character or not but it seems a bit unfair for someone who has gone through the troubles of playing the game under those conditions to have nothing to gain from it except for a feeling of accomplishment. perhaps there is a way we can reward him on the CnE office or maybe an ingame mod exclusively for that player?

so my question is, would you help me? and if not how about signing up to be a part of this iron man challenge? it could be fun you never know until you try.

Unfortunately, there's no way to guarantee someone is playing fair by using CnE. Even if I rewrote it from the base and added a heavy layer of security, hooked the game while running, encrypted saves on the fly... I could still break it. And I'm by no means skilled at such things.

I do like the idea of being able to give particular players badges, and possibly having the occasional competition. We'll need Fligg to say if the DB is set up for that (I haven't had access since the alpha stage).

no basically by using the CnE to keep track i'd be watching console commands and seeing how many humanoids they have killed. im not looking to track every little detail i just have to have faith that the players in the MW community will play fair...

how bout you PK, you wanna give it a try?

I just uploaded an update that fixes a few major bugs and a few minor ones.

v1.1

-- Fixed major bug preventing other OnDeath scripts from triggering events

-- All human and creature kills should be reported far more accurately now

-- Kills caused by spell casting are now recorded

-- Fargoth's Ring badge reports for everyone now

-- Morag Tong membership reports on the character profile

The update seems to be killing my fps to the point where it's unplayable. Any idea why? The previous version seems to have no fps impact at all. :?

It was changed from monitoring OnDeath for NPCs to GetHealth. That may be why your fps has dropped, Mel.

I'd be very surprised if that's the case - I got about 2-3 fps with the update. GetHealth is used all over the place, I'm sure I'd have noticed before if it was that bad!

Hm, apparently if I load while I'm well away from any towns and don't go near too many NPCs, it's fine. Once I've gone into a town it's done for though, and leaving town doesn't help.

If nobody else is experiencing this, maybe it's some kind of conflict? I don't know, I've just reverted to 1.0 for now.

---

Edit: May not be CnE after all - started having some issues with framerate even with 1.0, haven't figured out the cause yet. :(

---

Edit #2: Done some more experimenting: CnE is definitely *a* cause, but possibly not the only one.

I dunno, Mel. I've had it lock the game up, but it hasn't caused my fps to slow down.

Mel, are you using magic much?  If so, do you notice a difference when you have a spell readied versus not readied?

Using magic lots actually (my char hasn't ever used a weapon) - I didn't notice any difference but I'll try again and see. Mostly what I noticed was that it's town exteriors that do it, but things don't go back to normal if I move to an interior/wilderness cell - that is, it gets into this regular slow/normal/slow thing (much like the time I had a bunch of npcs checking getLOS once per second) - if that makes sense.

I started a new character yerstoday.
Everything was fine, but then i suddenly started to crash as soon as  i pressed "r" to ready magic.
Then i disabled CNE and loaded game- crashes stopped.
Then i checked CNE again and saved to the new slot- No crashes.
Just though to report this little oddity.
No FPS drops.

Tis all well on my front, Lord Arch-magister. Though I do have one Suggestion. Perhaps there should be a badge for Completeing a Great House Stronghold.

other than that, I've experienced no problems at all, I'm running on Vista 64bit and use MWSE V .9.4

Does recording stats do anything to the save file? Does it matter which save I continue from later? Can I continue from the last save I did before I recorded stats or does it matter at all? I ask because the instructions recommend using a different save and I didn't know why.

Thank you, and wow what a sweet mod and service this is.
