I have a random question about  CS files?

Random question.
Is a BSA unpacker that which I need, to get into some of the original files of Morrowind that aren't automatically DL'ed to disc when installed. I noticed I do not have access to the ground meshes I need for a few items in CS. Normally I am messing with other parts of the CS and I came across this problem a couple days ago.

Any tips are appreciated ^^

If I remember correctly, all of the meshes and textures are on the disks. The CS disk has all the morrowind files and the tribunal and bloodmoon disks have the files for their respective expansions. You can copy them to your hard drive so that you can use them.

If you do need to use a .bsa unpacker, be careful which one you use. I had a nasty experience that cost me an install from using a bad one that didn't work right. Re-installing isn't a big deal unless (like me) you use 170+ mods. :D It took me almost a week to get my game running right again.

Yeah unfortunately me and my husband are on the same comp so uh I think he'd die if I messed up his game.
I tried different ways of copying from cd but I couldn't figure it out. I also tried looking it up but I guess I'm not putting in the right info because I can't find what I need to do it. And then someone mentioned a BSA unpacker. I really feel like a noob right now even though I have done extensive modding for myself and my husband..

Btw I just noticed your quote of Aristotle. He is my favorite philosopher before John Stuart Mill's birth....even though Aristotle would pat me on the head and go..ohhh isn't that cute the woman is trying to be intelligent. He had a take on the world that not many understand but was worthwhile even today.

All of the stock meshes and textures are on the CS disk. They should be in the same folder format as your data files folder (data files\icons, etc.). If you can't find them there, a BSA unpacker would work, but that requires Java to operate. Check PES for "BSA unpacker" if you want it.

There are no meshes for the ground. You can only texture on top of them.

I think she might mean ground meshes as in what you see when you put something down in the game world.  They generally have 'gnd' in the name somewhere.

Elaura is pretty cool like that. She even understands me.. and I never know what I'm saying.

I always use BSA Browser.   All of hedgehogs stuff is packed in a bsa.  As far as I know there aren't any relevant meshes in the bsa's that aren't on the CS disk and the Tribunal/Bloodmoon discs.    I keep a copy of all of them outside of my MW install for reference and when I need something.

Yes, it is a godsend when you've used a texture replacer that you wish you hadn't.

Wrye Mash is your best friend if you want to try out texture replacers. You can add and remove entire packs with a couple of clicks. :) With a little work you can also make your own custom packs too. Now that you have the updated version, give it a try. I guarantee you'll fall in love with mash once you learn your way around it. I absolutely refuse to play MW without it. :)
