TESFU Town Mod

This is the latest group collaboration project that we are working on at The Elder Scrolls Fan Union. Although we had a team of 6-8 people interested in working on this mod .. the actual numbers have dwindled due to computer problems, site running duties, etc. But a small team of us are still working on getting a beta version of it out in time for our move to a new website soon to come up. I should tell you that TESFU website experienced what some call D-Day (deletion day) and I refer to as a website DragonBreak .. a very angry and upset by real life global moderator deleted ALL the content of ALL the topics before he left forever in a huff. So our original information threads for our TESFU Town Mod were lost but we are recovering at a growing rate.

The best introduction can probably be found HERE at Gstaff's Bethesda Blog on our mod & Gstaff will be an NPC in the mod himself. I do have a pictoral guide to Neacrythe, the name of our little seafaring town on a peninsula near the tri-sected roads to Balmora, Pelasiad & Suran .... posted at TESFU .. If you'd like to join us and become a Morrowind NPC citizen of Neacrythe by the sea .. just post in this thread with your character stats .. name, race. class, weapon/armor/clothing, spells & enchantments and any particular dialogue. We shall welcome you to town with open arms .. oh yeh, look at the overhead map and pick out a house. There are many still available although all the waterfront real estate with boat ownership is taken. Figures, eh?

Wonderful Maiqdabomb .. and since you are registered at TESFU too, you would be a very worthy town inhabitant. We would love to have the famous Maiq the Liar represented in Neacrythe - would be very cool indeed!

And to report to everyone interested .. we are working this week on creating more of the member NPC citizens and on establishing new and exciting alchemical properties for our unique town flora.

Skeli, our town mod sounds like a mod you already have? I'd be very interested to hear about that and which one because our cartographer Ironed Maidens picked the precise spot for our town because he could find no other conflicting mods already built there or near it. It was a wilderness peninsula which we widened with the land editor. It was chosen because it has access to the roads to Balmora, Pelasiad & Suran but is off the beaten track from those roads.

Now which is the link that everyone is having so much trouble with? I'm assuming it is the Pictoral Guide to Neacrythe that is stored at The Storm Raven Library. Well, I will give the direct link to the TESFU Pictoral Guide. The reason I did not do that before is that in the TESFU topic we do all our talking and commenting, however it has the same screenshots as the library link - here it is:

Both of these sites are zetaboard forums and so there is a slower load time of pages if you have your firewall settings high. I choose not to lower my firewall settings for any reason and so I am used to waiting for the slow load. This could account for why some people are experiencing a delay when clicking on the link for it to load.

I don't have the Screenshots stored anywhere that is not a zetaboard site. If I started one here that would give me 3 sites to update everytime I add more screenshots. I already have a double job of it. If it becomes too much of a waiting problem - perhaps I will just consolidate my Pictoral Guide to one zeta and one non-zeta source.

I think he means that there have been other, similar mods, that took modders and added them into the game.

Ahh, ok .. cool. Yes, I was working on a project that did the same called Elder Vaults Island. Unfortunately that website went out of existence but we Vaulters are gathered at Gamersroam. A couple members at Gamersroam are NPCs in TESFU Town Mod; so who knows, maybe I will use EVI island as an away mission point for some quest if James and his department come up with need of an island.

I will certainly consider it, however(no joke), I have many things to catch up on. But if you want to, you could throw me in there as an Argonian smith with an adamantium spear   . I will likely be more available after the holiday season.

Shveet, screenies look promising, this is the mod i was talking about btw, and yeah I wasn't saying it was done before merely saying it reminded me of another mod. Hadnt played it in awhile but if I recall it was a community project.

Wow, interesting concept on that mod there, Skeli. Done in 24 hours by a variety of people for a 'snapshot' of Morrowind on that day. Very interesting.

But our mod is more in depth and taking longer to create and has a storyline, quests, scripts, etc. in addition to we ourselves being the NPCs. It all began as an advertising tool idea for TESFU and still will be; but it's become way more than that. Our basic premise is freedom of expression and a place for creativity in Neacrythe by the sea.

And I hope that soon people will be able to see the screenshots if they aren't visible already. I didn't realize that The Storm Raven Library was private posting in the area I put the town mod. So Storm Raven very kindly is working there to make all the TESFU Town Items .. screenshots and questlines .. visible to all. Thank you, Storm.

Yeah, it was pretty crappy. Especially when the dude who did it got caught about a week ago with an alternate account.

Yes that was bizarre. He was even going to work on the mod as part of the Quest Team. Luckily redsrock and lettuceman noticed the similarities and found him out. Our Tri-Admin Team are really sharp. We call them RedRavenMan.

And I got more good news by way of PM today. Dr. Dume who modded our fantastic dwemer forge, which is one of the very coolest buildings in Neacrythe, has offered to help some more on the modding. So maybe we shall see some other buildings in town getting the dume-touch.

Just a short note to say that there are new screenshots at The Storm Raven Library Link at top of this topic. And these screenshots show how the moveable furniture will be used to decorate the vacant houses we will have that supposedly will be the just finished being built houses in town. The PC will be staying in a room at The Dragon Break Inn to begin with and then s/he can go to the NPS Office and pick out a trial house. There will be a lot of moveable furniture there with little or no weight that s/he can carry in his/her inventory and decorate his/her house/s with.

Great thanks to the creator of the moveable furniture concept Andoreth with the Real Furniture Mod and to other scripting like Moveable Bedroll and Moveable Containers and Book Rotate. These furniture peices are still able to do their jobs .. beds allowing sleep, containers holding items, lights blazing .. even though they act like miscellaneous items and are carried in your inventory.

I have game tested this and it is not only utilitarian but it is great fun!
