[WIP] Arrow Diversity

Hey guys! This is a pretty late announcement but I've been spending time making a mod for adding in new arrow types. So far I have blunted arrows, barbed arrows, and forked arrows. I've renamed the vanilla arrows to broadhead arrows, and have been trying to find ways to integrate the arrows. So far, for everything from iron to bonemold* integrated (regular, enchanted, cruel, and dire variants made).

That all being said, I'm not entirely sure what to do with glass, ebony, and daedric arrows. They're not in levelled lists that I am aware of, so I thought about doing a bit of a crafting system not too far off of what is done in Tribunal and Bloodmoon.

Any ideas on integration and new arrow types are appreciated! :)
*I really do not agree with a bonemold arrow to start with, but made this to fulfill the dire-line. Still need to make a blunted and forked version.

My personal opinion is that Daedric should stay in limited supply somehow.  You could add them to the leveled list for Golden saints which would fit in with the other daedric weapons and armor in addition to adding them to a few existing dungeons.

Crafting would work for the others - being that there is glass and ebony.  While you could use daedra hearts like Skyrim to craft Daedric, I prefer the Morrowind's system of extremely limited daedric items and daedra hearts are not hard to get.

If possible, it would be awesome if the blunted versions had an effect like "ignore x% of enemy armor" to justify using them over other arrows.

Thanks for the suggestions, Wolf!

With Blunted Arrows, so far I have them as having higher enchant over the other arrows, though I agree that there could be something more to justify them. I do like the levelled list idea, now that you brought it up. I thought of something similar, though realize now I could potentially put in the arrows but having only like a 5-10% chance of appearing on a Golden Saint as a new levelled item, and an even lesser chance on Dremora Lords? (Previously I was thinking of how could I put in a bow AND some arrows guaranteed!) I agree about the problem of crafting Daedric in Morrowind compared to Skyrim, given the Daedra ...

Hey guys, sorry for the double-post.

Just wanted to post an update. Got the crafting system working (it's just an NPC, very similar to how Bloodmoon and Tribunal handle it), daedric arrows have been put in separate leveled lists and added to Golden Saints and Dremora Lords. There is a 10% chance of finding any Daedric arrow on a Golden Saint, and a 5% on a Dremora Lord. These are only on the creature variants, and not on the summoned ones. I think all that is left is a slight mesh modification to the glass forked arrow to make its head slightly bigger, and throw in like three more bonemold variant arrows to tidy up the cruel/dire line. And potentially re-level the additions in the existing levelled lists.

Also, out of curiosity, I noticed that there are arrow speed changes in the gameplay settings. Does anyone know if changing the speed on the arrow proper (like the speed value on a dagger) changes the speed of that arrow to fly faster? Or do I have to edit this through the gameplay settings?

Those are neat looking arrows, Turelek. And a fun mod idea to add some item diversity! I'm looking forward to the release!

Hey everyone, so the file has been uploaded on Morrowind Modding History along with some pictures. Still awaiting approval, but it's up! The first version at least, might make changes in the future. Was thinking of adding Bodkin some time but those are essentially broadheads ...

Great!

Every time I come back to Morrowind, I always end up playing a mage character.  But with these, maybe it's time to start up an archer - don't know how long its been.
