       1. PLUGIN DESCRIPTION

*****************************************************************

        TITLE:   Avenge Your Death!
        VERSION: 1.0

        PLUG-IN TYPE: Tweaks

        BY:          Fliggerty
        CONTACT:  http://www.fliggerty.com

Avenge Your Death! changes the way you die in Morrowind.  Rather than simply loading
a save game, you can now become a ghost and try to regain your body.  When you are killed,
your corpse and all of your belongings will fall to the ground where to died.  Then after
a brief time in the afterlife, you will find yourself, as a ghost, in some random place.
As a ghost, you won't be able to interact with anyone (with a few exceptions, such as the
undead,) or anything except for doors.

Once you have found your body, you can enter back into it and be restored to relatively
good health.

If you choose not to become a ghost and are a bit annoyed that you got killed, you can choose
the option to avenge your death and have all life in the cell die along with you.  Or you
can just load a saved game as normal.

This mod requires MWSE v0.9.3 or later.  V0.9.3 is the version included in the later
versions of MGE.  Avenge Your Death! does not require MGE to function, but it is enhanced
by it.  I recommend you use MGE, and ensure that the internal build of MWSE is enabled.

This mod is intended only for advanced mod users as it requires modification of an included .esp.

*****************************************************************

       2. INSTALLING THE PLUGIN

*****************************************************************

To install the plugin, unzip the files into the Morrowind/Data Files
directory.

REQUIREMENTS: Morrowind, Bloodmoon, Tribunal, Morrowind Script Extender (v0.9.3 or later),
Morrowind Graphics Extender (optional)

There are two esp files included:

Avenge Your Death!.esp
AYD Spells.esp

The first one is the primary esp.  This contains all of the scripting and objects necessary to
use this mod.  AYD Spells.esp has pre-made spells set to default values.  This will need to be
edited to match the character you wish to use this mod with.

There are three types of spells included: Birthsign Ability, Miscellaneous Ability, and Racial
Ability.  There are five of each type, numbered in order.  These will need to be changed, if necessary.

First of all, if you are using a default and unmodified race you won't need to do anything to the
Racial Ability spells.  Otherwise, first identify the name, effect, duration, and magnitude of any
abilities inherent to your race.  Then modify the spells with the id containing "dd_racial_ability_#."
It is VERY important that you do these in order; if you only have three racial abilities, only modify
the first 3.  The scripts will start at the top and work down.  So if you change any with higher values
first, your character will not be properly restored upon resurrection.  When you modify the spell,
change everything EXCEPT FOR THE SPELL ID to match that of your default ability.  It is not necessary
to include any powers or spells, only abilities.

Next you will need to look at your character's Birthsign.  If it includes any abilities, do the same as
the racial abilities, but with the spells with the id "dd_birthsign_#."

If you have any other constant effect spell affecting your character (excluding CE enchantments, and
the main quest corprus immunity spells) those can be restored as well by modifying the spells
"dd_misc_ability_#."

Once you have changed the spells esp, activate both of the esp files and start the game.  The first
time you load a game with these active, a setup ring will be added to your inventory.  Equip the
ring to run the configuration.  You will be asked how many of each of the three types of abilities
you modified.  If your answer does not match the correct value, you will experience problems.

THIS MOD IS INTENDED FOR THOSE WHO ARE COMPETENT ENOUGH WITH THE CONSTRUCTION SET TO PROPERLY
MODIFY SPELLS CORRECTLY.  IF YOU ARE A BEGINNER WITH MODS, OR DO NOT KNOW HOW TO MODIFY THEM
IN THE CS, I SUGGEST YOU DO NOT USE THIS MOD.  I DO NOT INTEND TO ANSWER QUESTIONS ON HOW TO
SET THIS UP (UNLESS I HAPPENED TO MISS SOMETHING HERE) DUE TO THE FACT THAT IT HAS BEEN THOROUGHLY
COVERED IN THIS README.

       3. PLAYING THE PLUGIN

*****************************************************************

From the Morrowind Launcher, select Data Files and check the box
next to Avenge Your Death!.esp, and AYD Spells.esp.
Launch Morrowind via the MWSE shortcut.

Nothing in the game will be different until you die.  When you do, rather than simply being
asked if you want to load the most recent game, you will be given three options.  You can
either continue as normal, watch your character die, and load a save.  Other options are to
become a ghost, or avenge your death.  If you choose to avenge your death, all NPCs in the cell
will die, then you will as well.

If you choose to become a ghost, you will first be taken to the afterlife.  All of your
belongings will of course remain with your corpse in the spot you died.  While in the
afterlife, it will be necessary to save and reload.  If this step doesn't happen, all magic
in the game with remain completely disabled.  You will be given the choice to either save
it yourself, or sleep an hour and use an autosave (I recommend saving it yourself.)  After
that, your character will be killed and you will be prompted to reload.

After it is reloaded, you will be moved to some random place.  While you are a ghost, you
will only be able to interact with certain NPCs, generally those considered undead.  Sometimes
a creature of NPC will see you and maybe even attack, but they will shortly lose sight of you
and cease the attack.  You won't be able to pick things up, or if you do, you can't hold them
for long.  Pretty much the only thing you will be able to manipulate in the world are doors.
Your objective is to find your corpse.  Once you do, you can enter it again and be restored to life.

Great mod fligg!  :D But there are some bugs i need to address:
1. IF you save the game during the afterlife and re-load the save, you aren't invisible or atleast you dont look like it.
2. The Game crashes when you attempt to enter your corpse, and someone randomly says a battle remark like, die fetcher etc. out of nowhere.

Is the game supposed to turn black and white like in the pics your provided on PES? or was that just an photo-editing effect?

I might get this but I need to reget MWSE and MDE. I kinda got rid of them. Don't ask.

Just a bit confused, but I set each spell as a choice, and not each effect, right?  That has always confused me.
