Books of Vvardenfell

Version: 2.41
Author: Stuporstar

Download: Image

Readme:
This simple mod adds over 50 new lore-friendly books to Morrowind.

However, these are not just guide books designed to make stuff easier to look up while you play the game (though they serve that purpose well).
Each book has its own author, a person who exists somewhere in Nirn (not necessarily in Vvardenfell, but some authors are existing NPCs).
As such, I tried to write each book with the author's particular voice in mind.
Some authors have their own biases, and are not necessarily 100% accurate depictions of the game world, but rather colored through that author's particular lens.

Includes: alchemical information, world information, role-playing aids (such as books on how to repair armor), fiction, poetry, humor, and maps.

Beautiful Books Volume I: Grimoires

Version: 1.0
Author: Stuporstar

Download: Image

Readme:
This mod adds eight unique grimoires, one for each school of magic: alteration, conjuration, destruction, illusion, mysticism, and restoration, as well as two special ones. The Dwemer grimoire is related to enchanting, and the necromancer's grimoire has a special effect.

Each one is colored related to their school of magic. They are not skillbooks, but have scripted enhancements (in the standard version):

- The six grimoires related to the different spell schools, and the enchanting grimoire, all add five points in their related skill. This is an ability that will be removed after an hour.
- You cannot stack the effects of the grimoires. Only one can be active at a time. This was done for reasons of balance. You must wait an hour for the effect to wear off before you can benefit from reading another grimoire.
- The Necromancer's grimoire is a little bit special. It comes with a benefit and a curse. This grimoire will summon a powerful skeleton companion, which will follow you for an hour before disappearing. It has proper follow scripting so it will be hard to lose. While under the influence of the Necromancer's grimoire, your personality will drop significantly. This effect will be removed once the grimoire wears off and you no longer have a skeleton following you around scaring the locals.

The six spell books can be bought in Dorisa Darvel's bookshop in Balmora. The Dwemer grimoire and Necromancer's grimoire must be found.

Note: It also comes with a version that turns them into journals for Writing Enhanced. This version doesn't have the scripted spells. I originally intended to make another mod that added blank journals to the game, but all my book covers for it ended up getting cannibalized to make books in all my other mods.

I've been using the Grimoires mod for a long time and I wonder if the 1.0 version is the latest or not, after reading the description on GHF-DL, or have you updated the mod recently and maybe forgot to change the version for the mod.

Because when I downloaded the mod I notice that I had already downloaded it and the archive I got was dated to 2014.

It hasn't been updated. I just moved them from MMH to GHF.

Welcome to GHF, Wastelands_Knight!  :dancing-banana:

This is likely what is causing broken links on both GHF-DL and MMH, so the only thing we can do is to wait for Fliggerty to fix the issues.

Hi and thank you!
Aww, I understand now. I hoped that maybe someone have the latest version of this mod on their PC and can share it with me. But oh well. I will wait until the site will be fixed then :-D

Leo I keep telling you that the downloads on MMH seem to be working fine, as I have not come across any that are not working, and since I randomly download mods through out the day, just to ensure that the MMH mods are working, I think I'm right about that.

The GHF-DL mods most of them can be downloaded using the wayback machine, and pasting the url from the page with the errors, and symbols into the search to get the download window to pop up.
1) Open wayback machine. Here is the link  https://web.archive.org/
2) Then find the mod you want to download I believe it is the mod which this release thread refers too. http://download.fliggerty.com/download-142-880
3) Click the download button
4) copy the URL from your address bar when the page changes to the messed up symbol page
5) paste the copied url in the field provided on the Wayback machine page
6) Download mod.
7) brfore complaining to the mod makers in their release thread that the download buttons don't seem to work try reading the announcements/issues thread to see if the site may be experiencing issue.

Sorry, It doesn't help. I copied URL and pasted it to the  wayback machine but when I press enter on my keyboard the only thing I got is some info about site and nothing more=( Maybe it because of my broweser?...

And I didn't complain. I just came to this thread to ask for help and not to complain. Where else should I ask for this? :chinscratch: I thought it's the best place for it...

Here try this link, the wayback machine shows calendars with small dots on some of the dates which represents archived "snapshots" of the site searched for. This particular mod seems to have had only one snapshot taken on November 3rd of 2016.

As to places where you can ask questions when an issue arises the link Leo provided earlier in the thread is a good place to post too.
