INFORMATION

This adds a single lute to Six Fishes in Ebonheart. When you get it, equip and ready it. Once readied, press the Insert, Home, Page Up, Page down, End, Or Delete keys on the keyboard and press the arrow keys to play individual chords.
Sheathe it to stop playing, and re-equip it to play again, just unsheathing it won't work.

This is dependent on Morrowind Script Extender.

This mod sounds pretty nifty. Seems like it would be a logical progression to simply replace all the in-game lutes with scripted ones. Any plans of doing so? Maybe the Fat Lute could have custom chords or some-such.

I've thought of replacing Lutes in game, but as they are required by some mods, it might make incompatibilities, and I don't know how I would change all of a Misc type to a weapon type, I know corv's ranger mod changed all the static trees to be activators, but I have no Idea how he did it. I suppose I could put 20 or 30 lutes in game owned by random shops/people instead of replacing the default ones though...

As far as replacing the lutes goes, the simplest solution would be to find each instance of the object in the CS and then use search and replace to switch it with the weapon. As there are almost 50 instances of the lute in-game it would take some time, but it's simple work. If you don't delete the vanilla misc version of the lute but simply remove all in-game instances of it that should avoid a lot of incompatabilities. Incompatabilities are however indeed always a risk, especially as replacing the lute would alter every cell and NPC that has a lute in it. I'd personally suggest having it as an optional add-on if you don't mind the work, though. Also, it might be a good idea not to replace the lutes carried by NPCs, as they might try to use your lute as a weapon, and I'm not sure how good that would look...

Nice to see the release Xargoth!    RL caught up to me and I've had no time (and no urge) to mod lately but I'll get back to modding soon enough and resume work on a Bard's Life

@Gnomey, Probably right. I'm thinking a better option is to just to maybe add them to leveled items or something and make it an optional esp.
