So I just fixed the problems with my desktop and monitor. And now my laptop has shut down and won't restart. I've tried all the basic stuff, remove battery and power cord, etc. My guess is that something broke (what a surprise), but I'm no hardware expert. I am currently typing this on my phone and it's very frustrating, so can anyone offer advice?
So what, I just type something in here and it shows up as my signature?
There is a few things that you can do with your laptop and the first thing you can do is to search for information about your laptop on the internet , but if there is nothing that let you start your laptop then I suggest that you follow Drakkmore's advice.
Have you tried to use a new battery and have the laptop powered on for one night (don't let your laptop running on battery just power electricity) of course you can turn off the monitor, because that's a little trick I used for stationary computers so that the battery will be recharged over night.
Can you get your self into BIOS on your laptop? If so then I suspect there is something wrong with the configuring and I strongly suggest that you use the default values in BIOS for the time being.
If that worked then it's more likely a software issue with your system software sound card, video card, monitor drivers etc in Windows, so if you have a system restore point in Windows then use it and make a new one once you have your laptop working before installing anything unless Windows requires a software installation.
Leo, my computer will not boot up at all. I push the button and literally nothing happens. I'll probably take it to a repair shop, but that probably costs more money than I'm willing to spend.

All I can suggest is try it without the battery. If it still won't light up, take it to a tech. If it *does* light up without the battery, take it to a tech and ask him if you need a new battery. If it isn't the battery and you can't afford to get it fixed, ask the tech to put your files on a DVD and get yourself a new laptop when you can afford it. They aren't really very easy or cheap to fix.
Yeah, unfortunately, when the laptop stops coming up with or WITHOUT battery...it's pretty much a boat anchor and a hard drive. And I for one don't own a boat, so...good thing I have three desktops. If you need to, you can use that hard drive as a USB drive by getting an enclosure for it on the Internet. Some are pretty cheap, and it would make backing up your files easier whenever you do get another comp.

Well, I just got it working under very specific circumstances (plugged in, do the whole ritual with the battery and power button), so I'm gonna buy a new battery and pray that it works.

Aaah! Well, the fact that you DID get it working means a helluva lot. It probably is the battery, then. But if you can buy a good large thumbdrive, or can burn CDs or DVD's, I'd recommend making at least one backup copy of your hard drive. It's never fun when something fails, ESPECIALLY when it's a drive or other device containing your only copy of something. I try to keep at least two (or more) computers running, so they can continually mirror each others' files.

Hi, I don't have so much knowledge about the computer that's why I couldn't help you, but I have met to many experience people that's why I decide to get some help about the New LCD. Actually I just buy a new LCD (first I had a monitor) and when I attach with PC it didn't display any thing, so please help me to remove this error.
Start a new thread detailing your issue. You're gonna have to give a bit more detail than that though.
