Within three of minutes of playing Skyrim, I knew that I HAD to replace
all of the static barrels and crates with actual containers.

This simple mod replaces all of the non-container barrels with the other normal
barrels.  It also introduces new container objects using the same models
as the static crates, and replaces all instances of those crates.

The new containers all have similar or identical leveled list items as
existing containers.

    2. INSTALLING THE PLUGIN

To install the plugin, unzip the files into the Skyrim/Data directory.

    3. PLAYING THE PLUGIN

*****************************************************************

From the Skyrim Launcher, select Data Files and check the box
next to the "Barrels and Crates.esp" file.

I assume that you had another Fligg's released mods forum in mind for Skyrim or do I'm completely mistaking.  :-P

I love this mod. This one and Emma's house mod are my first two mods..

I have a ton of garlic now -lol-

I've been looting those previously static containers like there is no tomorrow.. Thank you!
Mostly food in them?

I have noticed that there isn't much variety in the actual contents of the barrels (they have about 4 of 1 food item, nothing else) but I doubt there's much to do about that

I used the exact same barrels that Bethesda did...the lack of variety is on them.  ;)  I am working on making some new leveled lists to distribute around in those for the next version.

It's one of those things that truly irked me. I think I've just been spoiled by Morrowind; clearly every container in the TES universe must be accessible XD

Hi! I've recently heard about mods made with old versions of the CK causing stability problems when used in conjunction with newer mods. I was wondering if loading this in the CK and saving it would fix this, or if I would need to make further tweaks. I really don't want to play without this mod!

I've been using this mod since Fligg release it and have no problem whatsoever, so I don't understand what the cause would be if there is one by using this mod with newer mods.  :shrug:

Well, here's a quote that discussed this: "I have mods which were created with an earlier version of the CK, and the game won't function properly when you combine them with mods created with a more recent version of the CK. I know that there were significant changes to navmeshes, for example. And some of these problems may come from dirty edits, so it's not as simple as uninstalling old mods that primarily add architectural structures."

I was a tester for this mod, and I still use it. I have never had any issues with my game.
This mod is Drakkmore endorsed 100%

Perhaps it's time for new version since the Skyrim Legendary Edition is out and a lot of things has a better structure now, because the last official patch is included with an updated CK.

Again thank you Fligg for this useful mod and I can't play without it that's for sure.  :D

The 28th of October 2016 Bethesda released Skyrim Special Edition (SSE) and when I started to play SSE, I really miss your mod in my game until the other day when I convert it to SSE.

Of course for personal use only.  I've since then test it and it works great without having a single issue so far in a fairly modded SSE.

The link is currently dead due to some changes coming to GHF-DL/MMH. I believe that Fliggerty will be phasing out The Holds of Skyrim, and be moving those mods to Mod History. Not 100% certain about this, but I'm fairly sure that is what will be happening.

I think so too and I remember Fligg mentioned that THoS didn't had the success he hoped for.

I don't think Fligg would mind if you or me reupload his neat Barrels and Crates mod here (remember to select the Other game option).

Actually after I posted last I was chatting with Fliggerty, and he was very surprised that THoS was down. I believe that he may be looking at THoS in the very near future, and possibly bringing it back up until the Modding History Overhaul is finished. We can wait a day or two until I can find out more before uploading it to GHF-DL. Even if we do upload it to Fligg's Featured Modder Page.

A posted announcement of the current status of THoS could bring the attention of some active Skyrim modders.  Even modders who haven't being active here for a long time needs to know about the current status of THoS.

I am also waiting to obtain permission from Fliggerty to convert his mod to SSE and release it on Bethesda.net, of course if he allow me doing that.

Since I have not played SSE, might I inquire as to whether or not it works when used with SSE. I know that there are certain mods that do work with SSE with out having to be converted (my own Umbra mod that I've only shared with a select few is one of them), but am unsure as to what exactly determines if a mod needs to be converted. Just asking, as with my Umbra mod the only thing different between it working in Skyrim, and Skyrim SE, was the need to unpack the BSA that was generated by the CS upon packaging the mod for upload (I just didn't upload it).
